Advice from practitioners

What is important to know before importing

Four points that separate clean clearance from problems at customs.

  • Scroll

    The list is updated quarterly

Regulators review the lists regularly. A brand may appear or disappear from the list. We monitor changes and check the current status before each purchase.

  • Package

Original packaging makes all the difference

Customs checks the markings on the box with the data in the declaration. Damaged or missing packaging is a reason for additional inspection.

  • Certification

A certificate of conformity is not always needed

For electronics and children's products - required. For clothing and accessories, a declaration is often sufficient. We clarify the requirements for your product.

  • Price

Undervaluation is the path to a fine

Customs checks invoices against a database of price profiles. If the price is 30%+ below the market price, there will be an adjustment and additional duties.

Risks and protection

Typical risks of parallel imports

What do importers face and how do we solve it?

Typical problems
  • The copyright holder filed a complaint with the customs register, the goods were detained at the border

  • The goods were seized at customs due to suspicion of counterfeiting

  • There is no certificate of conformity, customs does not release the batch

  • Customs adjusted the cost, duties doubled

Solutions OZTA
  • We check the brand status in TROIS before shipment. If the brand is on the list of parallel imports, we prepare a justification for release

  • We provide evidence of originality: invoice from the manufacturer, certificate of origin, photo of markings

  • We organize certification in an accredited laboratory. For a number of goods we issue a declaration instead of a certificate

  • We prepare the price justification in advance: contract, payment, supplier price list. Documents reduce the risk of adjustment to a minimum

Import documents

What you need to prepare

Without these documents, customs will not release the goods. We help you put together the complete package.

  • Purchase document

Invoice or contract with a supplier. Must contain the name, quantity, cost and details of the parties.

  • Certificate of origin

Confirms the country of origin. Affects the duty rate and the possibility of applying EAEU preferences.

  • Declaration of Conformity

For electronics, children's products, food. Confirms compliance with technical regulations.

  • HS Code

10-digit product code. Determines the duty rate, VAT and required permits.

  • Original packaging

Factory markings, barcodes, serial numbers. Customs checks with the data in the declaration.

  • Commercial invoice

Indicating delivery terms (Incoterms), currency, payment method. Basis for calculating customs duties.
